AMHA - American Miniature Horse Association

It is the 1st register of miniature horses, with more than 200 000 horses registered in the world. AMHAs must not exceed 34 inches (measured to the last hair on mane) and must be the replica of a large light horse, the Arabized type being the majority. In Europe, in recent years, it has again been possible to register a horse corresponding to the criteria of the register.

 

AMHR - American Miniature Horse Registry

Original registry of the miniature horse in the USA, the AMHR are divided into two categories ; division A for horses up to 34 inches, and division B for those between 34 and 38 inches. It is possible to have double horses registered including AMHA-AMHR and AMHR-ASPC. The registry is still open today to allow hardship.

ASPC - American Shetland Pony Club

Its arrival in Europe is relatively recent although this register has been established in the USA for many years already. With generally larger horses and several types : Foundation , Classic Shetland , Modern and Modern Pleasure . It has nothing to do with English Shetland, however, and has its origins in Hackney and Thoroughbred blood.

 

 

Falabella

Certainly the most famous register as its name is used wrongly to describe any type of miniature horse. The breed originates from Argentina and the register is closed. Falabellas should be no taller than 86 cm and are generally a bit more bony than other breeds. There are very few in the world and less than fifty on french soil .

CMF - French Miniature Horse

Recent register created to promote the miniature horse in France. The maximum authorized size is 89 cm at the withers and the model is intended to be close to a miniature thoroughbred. For the moment, the register is still open and allows you to register horses that are not from CMF parents and meet the selection criteria. Several commissions are organized on French territory.

NMPRS - Nederlands Mini Paarden Registratie Stamboek

Dutch register, divided into three sizes with a 1st for miniature horses below 86 cm, a second for those between 86 and 96 cm and the last for horses measuring between 96 and 106 cm. The register is currently open and allows to register horses that are not from NMPRS parents.

BMHS - British Miniature Horse Society

Also called "Toy Horse" the BMHS is the english register of miniature horses. He does not have a particular type, other than a versatile working horse that would resemble a thoroughbred. It should not exceed 87 cm at the withers. The register is currently open and allows to register horses that are not from BMHS parents.

BMP - Belgisch Mini Paarden

Belgian miniature horse studbook, it is divided into two sections. Section A includes horses up to 86.5 cm tall and section B includes larger horses up to 106 cm. Approvals and admissions still take place and allow to register horses that are not from BMP parents and meet the criteria of the breed.
